Dear colleagues,

I wanted to provide advance notice of a key new post in the UK that will be 
advertised in the first week of September - Professor of Transport Studies.

This senior full-time appointment (starting in Spring 2009) is intended to 
complement and build upon the existing strength of the Centre for Transport 
& Society at the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE). The 
disciplinary focus of the new post has, quite deliberately, not been 
specifically defined. We are keen to entertain a broad scope of possibility 
- relating especially, to the application of social sciences to transport 
(economics, political science, psychology, sociology, geography).

I will circulate further news on this in September and would be only too 
pleased to hear from prospective applicants.
